Songwriting Call

Together with lyricists, experienced composers and a team of producers, we will immerse ourselves – in the context of a songwriting camp – in the thematic fields of Tangente: ecology, memory and democracy. And in doing so, we will co-create new music! Thoughts on the “city of the future”, on climate protection and mobility, valuable and insightful looks into the history of the city up to the present will be part of this research. In this way, democratic processes and questions of co-determination in civil society will become more topical and exciting than ever.

The entire output of these creative days will be collected and a selection of it will be performed in various live formats by musik.stp, Freiraum and Tangente as well as published as part of the musik.stp vinyl sampler “Ausgabe drei”.

The cooperation between the established platform musik.stp and Tangente Festival is intended to release energies as well as be a good ground for new exciting processes, encounters and perspectives.

Interested musicians can participate in various ways. Finished, independently composed and recorded works/tracks can be directly submitted. There will also be a songwriting camp curated by well-known representatives of the Austrian music scene with subsequent recording sessions in the Freiraum (limited spots available). Finally, beats, lyrics, text modules, instrumentals etc. can be sent in for use as a pool of ideas in the songwriting camp.
