Tim Etchells
Biography
Tim Etchells (1962, UK) is playwright and performer, director and writer. He is best known to a wide audience for his work with the performance group Forced Entertainment, which he founded in 1984. His work, outside of the group, is situated between performance, visual art and literature and includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods, Marino Formenti, Taus Makhacheva, Vlatka Horvat and Elmgreen & Dragset. Etchell's short story collection "Endland" was published in 2019 and his novel "Broken World" in 2008. He is currently Professor of Performance & Writing at Lancaster University. Tim Etchells lives in Sheffield in the north of England and in New York.
