Seba Kayan
Biography
The artist and DJ Seba Kayan combines oriental sounds with techno beats in her performances. Her mission: to correct the distorted and stereotypical image of the so-called "Orient", which lies beyond the perceptions of popular Orientalism. Not being in the right place means creating and finding new places. By rummaging through music archives, she discovers unknown and exciting pieces for her compositions, in which she combines a variety of musical genres. Seba Kayan teams up with various musicians and performers to deconstruct projected identities in the musical process. The Viennese artist DJs, performs, curates and works on various exhibitions.
