Sandra Wollner
Biography
Sandra Wollner (1983, Styria) is an Austrian film director and screenwriter. She studied theater, film and media studies, and alongside her studies she works as an editor and director of short films and short documentaries. In 2012, she started studying documentary film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. She received the German Film Critics' Award 2018 for her feature film debut "The Impossible Picture". Wollner directed and co-wrote "The Trouble with Being Born", which premiered at the Berlinale in 2020, as part of the festival's Encounters section. The film received the Special Jury Award in that section. "The Trouble with Being Born" was also awarded the Grand Prize of the Province of Styria at the Diagonale 2020. Sandra Wollner lives in Berlin.
