Maksym Rokmaniko (The Center for Spatial Technologies)
Biography
Maksym Rokmaniko (1991, Ukraine) is an architect, designer, entrepreneur and director of the Center for Spatial Technologies (CST), a multidisciplinary office based in Kyiv. . His work explores new forms of urban living enabled by emerging technologies. As a researcher, Maksym Rokmaniko has dedicated himself to working in the Ukrainian context and together with Eyal Weizman, founder of Forensic Architecture, he deals with the destruction of the Mariupol Drama Theater in an air raid. Weizman and Rokmaniko spoke to around 60 survivors of the bombing in order to reconstruct what they call a "spatial archive". A model of history and stories. Working with memory is complex – especially when traumatized people have to comb through their memories.
