Biography

China Moses (1978, Los Angeles) is an American R&B and jazz singer and TV presenter. As the daughter of jazz singer and multiple Grammy award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater and legendary theater, film and television director Gilbert Moses, she came into contact with music and acting at an early age. China Moses took her first steps as a singer as a teenager with the single "Time" (1996). In 1997, she released her debut "China", which included a guest appearance by hip-hop legend Guru. In addition to recording two further albums in 2000 and 2004, she also worked with Meshell Ndegeocello, Étienne de Crécy, DJ Mehdi and Diam's. Her international breakthrough came in 2008 with the jazz album "This One's For Dinah", a declaration of love to her musical idol Dinah Washington, which she developed together with jazz pianist Raphaël Lemonnier. This was followed in 2012 by "Crazy Blues", another selection of jazz, blues and pop hits. "Nightintales", her first album containing only her own compositions, was released 2017.
